Directions

From Banchory drive west on the B974 to Strachan, joining the B976 continue to Finzean, past hall and as road corners sharply right, we are 500m along on the RHS. From Aboyne head towards Aberdeen. Turn right over the Potarch bridge. Turn immediately left. At the T junction, turn right onto the B976 & follow above directions.

Artist statement

Established in Finzean in 1988. We specialise in all areas of furniture restoration and the design and manufacture of bespoke furniture pieces. We carry out many types of finishing, including French Polishing, lacquer and oil finishes. We embrace the traditional methods of veneering, inlay, wood turning, caning and rushing. Lots to see!

Extended Bio

Tom Ironside Furniture began in a double garage in 1988. A she shed was built and Doreen Ironside began french polishing having been a Primary teacher for many years. Moira joined as an apprentice aged 16 in '89 and Claudia followed suit in '90. They soon moved to their current bigger premises, with Jenny joining as a finisher 12 years ago. They feel incredibly lucky to have been involved in many amazing projects over the years.
