Artist statement
I design 3-dimensional geometric jewellery and accessories. My ongoing exploration of and fascination with texture and suppleness of the beaded fabric, woven by hand one tiny glass bead at a time, using various off-the-loom weaving techniques, shows in each unique piece, be it a statement bracelet or a pair of earrings.
Extended Bio
In my home studio in Aberdeen, I create designs using various off-the-loom beading techniques alongside bead embroidery and loom-weaving. I’m predominantly inspired by architecture and landscapes of places I have visited and lived in. But I love pottery and ceramics which inspire me to create pieces in unusual shapes and colour combinations. Not wanting to repeat my designs, I prefer to expand and tweak each hand-made piece, making it unique and one-of-a-kind. And if you’d rather make your own, I offer tutorials for you to create your own version of some of my designs.
Locally you can find my work at the Edit store located within Bon Accord Mall in Aberdeen City Centre. But most of my work is available online with a selection being held in private collections.
