Artist statement
I'm an interdisciplinary artist deeply immersed in nature which inspires my art, craft, and community art projects. My only UK show this year will feature my flameworked glass icicles, vases, + blown animals, + metalsmithing in copper: creatures for home + Christmas tree. Handmade gifts with meaning + history. Lead artist Health of the Sublime in the Mearns.
Extended Bio
This is the only UK event this year to see and collect Carrie Fertig's blown glass and metal Christmas ornaments and sculptures. My store website is always closed late-October-end of December, so here's your chance to pick exactly what you want as everything is one of a kind. I'll be bringing components of some of my huge installations, so you can bring home a piece of some of my larger artworks, learn about (and even sign up for) my arts/wellbeing/climate project Health of the Sublime in the Mearns, offering free tuition in nature writing/poetry, video, virtual reality and more, and dive deeper into my practice through its core of wellbeing in nature, and see a selection of my video projects.
