Artist statement

I make mixed media sculpture around that magical, mystical material - glass!

I work in kiln formed glass, forged iron, wood, metals, enamel and stone. My work is inspired by the natural world around me, local myths and pre-history and the passage of time itself.

All my work is entirely original and completely hand made in Fyvie.

Extended Bio

I was formally trained as an Engineer and Industrial Designer to Masters level. I have always been driven to make things, from furniture to landscaping and telescopes to bicycle frames - making is just part of my nature. However, when it comes to glass working, I am almost entirely self taught. I make almost every aspect of my work entirely myself, from the forms and components of the sculptures themselves, through to the moulds and tools required to make them. Almost everything you see in my studio is by my own hand.
