Having always been fascinated by art and design it has taken some time for me to find the right outlet for my creative ideas. I have dabbled with baking and writing in the past but I've been inspired to transform silver, gold and gemstones into something elegant and refined.
I've only been making jewellery for the last 4 years, having taken some taster sessions and classes at The Smiddy, Banff, so feel I'm still developing my style. This is clearly reflected in the eclectic range of styles and techniques that have influenced my designs and I enjoy challenging myself by learning new skills!
Currently amongst my favourites are stone setting, drawing inspiration from the beauty of the Scottish countryside for my choice of gemstones and a Korean Technique called Keum Boo where gold leaf is bonded to fine silver using heat, creating a gilt surface.
Whilst at FOLD I will be providing demonstrations of some jewellery making techniques.
