Scott Smith is a silversmith creating contemporary vessels, tableware and jewellery that celebrate traditional hammering techniques. Recently moving back to Aberdeenshire, he is exploring Pictish imagery while reconnecting with the landscapes of North East Scotland. His work blends heritage craft with modern design to create unique, hand-forged pieces.

Read MoreI’m a silversmith, I make traditional Scottish items, all practical, for example; teapots, quaichs, boxes, plates beakers. I make some jewellery, some enamelling on copper and I make clocks, all with a battery movement and with a variety of styles. All my silver is hallmarked in Edinburgh.

By experimenting with glaze and overlapping different glazes I enjoy exploring colour and texture to create pieces that give connotations of the night’s sky and deep oceans.
