Artist statement
I love anything stitchy - sewing, knitting and macrame - and if I get any spare time I like to do a bit of Zentangle drawing. At the moment one of my projects is making quilts for each of my nine grandchildren. I have finished three so well on the way to getting them done.
Extended Bio
Again this year I will be demonstrating my sewing and macrame in the lovely Portsoy Gift Box. We are situated on the main street through Portsoy across the road from the famous Portsoy Ice Cream Shop and Symposium Coffee Shop. My main projects at the moment are making patchwork quilts for my nine grandchildren. I have competed three and almost finished the fourth one. For the next one I am going to try and work out the colour and pattern before I start cutting out any fabric. This will take some maths, working out block sizes and shapes, so this will certainly challenge me. My future macrame challenges will be to make some wall hangings. I don't think there will as much maths required to do this as I will only need to calculate the lengths of rope and the freestyling should be easier to do.
