Artist statement

I am a classically trained artist working in a realistic manner, primarily in oil. I can be inspired by a variety of subjects but my main focus is on still life and scenes of everyday life. Basing on the knowledge gained from my studies, I am trying to create my own unique style of communicating my artistic vision.

Extended Bio

I became an artist later in life, my original profession being a linguist. I first started with watercolors painting mostly landscapes, later added pastels, oils and charcoal to my media range. I studied classical art at Angel Academy of Art in Florence, Italy, completing a full 3 year programme and became more of a studio artist focusing on human form and still life. Whatever subject I paint my main goal is to convey the unique essence of it to the viewerand to lift the mundane into the realm of the beautiful.
