Extended Bio
Angie Bolt
Inspired by my grandparents, who met at Leicester School of Art at the end of the of the 1st World War, and by my mother who also painted, I have always been fascinated by art.
After school I completed a year’s Foundation course in Art and Design at Bath Academy of Art, though later spent most of my working life as a Counsellor. Now semi-retired I have returned to my first love of art and have recently exhibited in several local exhibitions.
I enjoy life drawing and portrait painting and am also frequently moved by scenes in nature and in my daily life that I feel inspired to try and recreate.
Christine McLennan
Christine is a landscape artist from Midmar, Aberdeenshire. She works in oils, acrylics and soft pastels. Walks in the beautiful Scottish countryside provide much of the inspiration for her paintings. Her work captures the dramatic features of skies, mountains, trees and water in vibrant colours. She enjoy exploring the tonal variations of natural light and capturing the changing seasons in large canvases and small studies. She is a member of Upper Deeside Art Society and a committee member of Art Aboyne.
Heather Marlow Stephenson (Invited artist)
Now living in Aberdeen Heather paints, draws and photographs in the landscape. Best known for her painterly photographs of the birds who live along the shore, Heather has also worked with wild seals in South Georgia and performing sea lions in Blackpool – hummingbirds in the rainforest of Trinidad and albatrosses on the Southern Ocean. Presently she is creating work inspired by the flocks, atmosphere and colours of the Ythan estuary. Hours of observation, sketchbook and her mantra ‘staring, watching, dreaming’ are all part of the endeavour to produce beautiful images.
Trina Stark
A graduate of Gray’s School of Art, Aberdeen.
Trina Stark works from her studio in the very heart of Banchory where she is inspired by the essence of her surroundings.
Trina has taught Art & Design in a career which has spanned more than 30 years in Aberdeen and tutors both locally and abroad.
Trina continues to explore the natural environment, using a variety of techniques and materials. She is currently most interested in capturing a sense of place, and the feeling of the changing light and weather experienced while being in a place rather than recreating a scene.
