Artist statement

Hello! My name is Barbora Nemcova and I am a Czech artist currently based in Aberdeen. Last year, you could see my art journey where I explored my style and subject matter of folktales and stories. This year, I am coming back to my roots and focus more on landscapes and nature, however, you will still find wee whimsical elements in my work!

Extended Bio

I am a traditional artist working primarily in acrylic colours but I don't shy away from graphite and colour pencils. This year I am focusing more on nature and landscapes as it's something close to my heart. I try to run a sustainable practice and try to reuse and recycle as much as possible. The highlight of this year so far was a commissioned landscape painting which was made from an old jute coffee bag stretched on stretcher bars and painted. My practice is still very much a work in progress and my artistic direction is still a bit unclear.
