Directions

Follow sat nav directions to Deemouth Business Centre. Studio located in Deemouth Artist Studios Unit 1 which will be the first building on the left when entering the courtyard. The entrance is at the far end of the building beside a large 'Unit 1' sign. Studio can be found up the stairs, halfway down the corridor on the left hand side.

Artist statement

Arra Textiles blends tapestry weaving with digital woven design to create pieces known for colour, complexity and a connection to place through plant dyed fibres.

Visit Lucy in the new studio where you can sample a weaving workshop, see how designs are created on the loom and buy unique, handwoven textiles inspired by the sea.

Extended Bio

After completing a degree in Design for Textiles at university in Scotland and Finland, Lucy's textile practice has developed to encompass design, sustainability, digital design techniques and a strong message of environmental protection. Working with plant dyed yarns and natural fibres, she creates unique artworks, bespoke commissions and runs monthly weaving workshops from the studio. Winner of the Inches Carr Bursary 2023 ‘Highly Commended/One To Watch’ Collect Open 2022 Featured in Crafts Magazine, Country Living Magazine and documentary ‘An Honest Representation Of The Modern Maker’.
