I am inspired by the sea, coast and incredible colours of this wonderful area. My seascapes are usually abstracted from the views from my walks along the coastline. Often there are hints to an actual location. I also enjoy painting people; anything from a studio portrait to a family out walking together.

The surrounding countryside is my main inspiration for my embroideries worked using mixed media and techniques to create texture and depth. I will also be showing some pieces of leather work.

What started as a hobby has now become my full-time passion. This year, I’m diving deeper into watercolour capturing wildlife wrapped in florals, and pushing myself with oil painting to create works that speak of strength and peaceful harmony. My main focus is creating practical, tactile, hand-thrown stoneware pottery for everyday use. I use a limited palette of glazes and a variety of clays to develop a range of colour effects. As the only full member of the Guild of Traditional Upholsterers in Scotland I specialise in working on antique furniture. Alongside my upholstery work I also make hand sewn lampshades and will be demonstrating both practices during the week. Whinnyfold Knitwear & Steve Kenyon-Roberts, Potter will be joining me in my studio again this year.

I’m a fun-seeking abstract painter who loves colour and play. This year, I’ll be at ART STUDIO with the super talented Toni Harrower and Tilly Howie, showcasing my expressive paintings alongside some giftable goodies. I hope visitors leave with the same joy I had while making them! (p.s. the kettle will be on!)

My work is inspired by my surrounding landscape, light, and colour. My abstract work evokes emotion rather than depicting scenes literally. Using screen printing, acrylics, and oils, I create layered, textural pieces. I also design homeware, with art-inspired candles, cushions, and lampshades.
