Tracey Johnston is a painter, printmaker and illustrator living and working in Aberdeen. She studied at Gray’s School of Art and has a BA Hons and MA in Fine Art Specialising in Printmaking and Painting. She has created over the years a library of images rich with meaning and personal symbology enhanced by travel as a John Kinross Scholar and periods of study and research in Italy. Her paintings sit within layers of historical influences, from the ancient technique of fresco painting to a long line of female artists who chose ‘Still Life’ as their subject. Tracey’s highly personal and intimate compositions explore colour theory, external and internal space and domesticity. Other themes she explores are secret gardens and places of safety and sanctuary.
