Here is the area for the statement of no more than 60 words. Presented this year as a working studio for both the artist and students training to be primary teachers. Within my artworks there can be an elemental sense of earth‚ water‚ air and human presence.....sensing place‚ belonging and wonderment. There are searching aspects to the images which are spontaneous‚ animated and expressive.Figurative aspects give way to abstract inventions and symbols.

I worked for some years designing and producing only artworks for specific outdoor public spaces. These works I hope will be liveable-with in a different way. Made from cast paper and metal‚ of a more domestic scale with a private and reflective purpose‚ they’re still about us -and our changing states of mind‚ action and emotion in the long-inhabited landscape.
There is a generous parking space beside the workshop.

Our featured artists this year are Mark Moynihan and David Lloyd who have both exhibited on the campus before. They describe their work in their own words David Lloyd ‘My work is about objects- random objects collected randomly. There is for me a fascination about objets trouves‚ particularly man-made objects which have been discarded. As time passes such objects‚ exposed to the elements and the ravages of time‚ undergo a process of metamorphosis‚ becoming almost unrecognisable. These altered images‚ still containing clues as to their original function‚ become enigmatic‚ intriguing and paradoxical.‘ David is showing his work in the Exhibition Space in the Georgina Scott Sutherland Library at Garthdee Mark Moynihan ‘My work uses portraiture to open up the idea that no individual has a single definable identity. I work in a variety of media in order to hold the viewer’s attention whilst at the same time introducing other facets of a deceptively complex subject. A continuing exploration of this area is carried out by drawing from and contesting traditional representations of the human individual. “Knowing what people look like has very little to do with knowing who they are” ‘ Mark is showing his work in the atrium of floor 2 of the Faculty of Health and Social Care at RGU
Visitor parking is available in the University car parks. The necessary permit is obtainable at the reception desk of the Faculty of Health and Social Care Building or the Aberdeen Business School which houses the GSS Library

Now working in oils and soft pastels in addition to acrylics. My work seeks to capture peace‚ tranquillity and drama whether in abstract or representational images. Described as ‘Loose and expressive’ as an artist‚ my best works achieve strength of effect through (seemingly) effortless subtlety‚ colour and suggestion. I like to create something different every day. Demonstrations at 11a.m daily.

All my original work is for sale and because I have no Gallery commission or fees to pay‚ you can have an Oggy Original at Studio Prices!!!

My work is concerned with the way surface and colour interact on the picture plane. My landscape paintings are influenced by the shapes I encounter as I walk the hills and are response-based rather than accurate depictions of places. Always‚ I try to achieve a kind of complex simplicity‚ and a feeling of depth. I do photography and commissions too.
All car parking is free in Forres. The nearest is Orchard Road Car Park. From here walk north to the High Street - about 50 meters. Then go towards the tower.

My theory on photography is that the photographer should give the viewer a fresh‚ different or alternative perspective on a subject and should visualise the final image at the time of taking‚ be it digital or film. The making of a good photograph is light and when the light in Scotland is at its best it cannot be beaten.

Working with mixed media including varieties of ink‚ paint and collage‚ my current working theme surrounds my ideas on developing my own theories of how my personality splits between my dominant public persona and my submissive and insecure private persona. I attempt to portray my ideas using floral and sensual shapes in rich and luxurious palettes.

Works of art are emotional messages. Sometimes straight to the heart: colour is the language of the heart. Sometimes via the mind; that reads line and tone‚ texture and perspective. Often both. The emotion may be the artist‘s‚ straight from the heart; or the viewer‘s‚ or the model‘s. Often the emotion is confusing‚ and can only be communicated in non verbal ways. Look with your heart. Greg works in many media and in many genres‚ but always with the heart.

My artistic and design practice utilizes a combination of traditional and cad craft processes. Designs inspired by natural elements are constrained within a geometric form capturing light and extruding shadows. Inspiration is drawn from natural structures man-made architectures and maps. I create patterns design and make functional objects to which patterns can take form at many scales‚ from jewellery to furniture and architectural screens & lighting in a range of materials.
